Overdue and Over-cooked

I can’t believe this is my second kid, and she has gone past her due date.  I thought second babies usually came earlier.  Noah came early, so I have never been this pregnant before.

I have spent the past three weeks doing everything in my power to get this baby to come out of me, and NOTHING has worked.

- Pineapple
- Castor oil (though I was too scared to take a full dose)
- Raspberry leaf tea
- Walking
- Clary sage
- All kinds of working out (Crossfit)
- Bouncing on the birth ball
- Spicy food
- Climbing up stairs
- Other unmentionables

I haven’t done acupuncture or evening primrose oil because they are expensive, and I’m too cheap.

It’s funny.  Now that I’m late, I’m no longer trying to make this baby come out.  I think I’ve reached this place of acceptance that she is going to be two weeks late, and they are going to have to cut her out of me.

This is what 40+ weeks looks like…Yikes!

If you do want to try acupuncture there is a great community acupuncture clinic in Salem. It’s a sliding scale $20-40 a session. I used to see Stephanie. She is awesome!

  2. You’ve got this! Your body and the baby are working together to make it happen. Thinking of you!

woohoo! good luck! i looove the picture.
i tried the castor oil thing but only like… 1 teaspoon. it was so gross. i figured, he’ll come when he’s supposed to. i think all the tricks are coincidences! people think that because they ate spicy food the night before, that’s why labor started. but really, i bet baby was going to come anyway. MAYBE. who knows?
i’ve heard good things about acupuncture though (that’s different than a “trick” i mentioned before).
either way, good luck. can’t wait to hear how it goes!
